I agree with what you said about &#039;resolution&#039; Vs &#039;renovation&#039;. There is a really very wonderful group of Christians, led by a guy called Richard Foster (he of &#039;Celebration of Discipline&#039; fame) called Renovaré (see www.renovare.org) whose state aim is to be a force for renovation - in the church and in the hears of all Christians. Foster talks a lot about how, more than a revival or a resolution or a programme, the world needs Christians who have gone deep, renovated their heart and put Jesus on the throne.

A real part of my work as a Spiritual Director is walking people through the difference between cleaning their bathroom, and renovating it. The taps must be ripped out and the grime cleaned away, fresh and good as new! Indeed, as the word that you brought on Sunday reminds us:

&quot;...be transformed by the renewing of  your mind...&quot; (Rom 12:2b)
